Dear Younger Me

Dear Younger Me,

It feels like it’s been so long since we have spoken, I can offer you so many things to help you, but I won’t. Funny thing about time travel is that you can change other people life not just yours. If I had a chance to say something to you it would be never grow up. I remember the good times when I had my family together, enjoy them to the fullest because you will never know how long they would last. Especially when you go hang out with friends and live life without no worries. When you get older everything seems limitless because you have more responsibility, worries, stress, pain, and regrets. Oh, how I wish I could live again as a kid, but my advice to you would have to be appreciate every life event that will occur. You see when you get older you somehow get wiser through experience that will make you become the person who you were meant to be. For instances, I made a huge mistake in our teenage year that I am dying to write it to you to prevent it but I know it was for best for us. The outcome of it was a lesson of how you can’t always rely on people because they all make mistake just like us. How can we judge someone when we aren’t perfect our self? When your parents plan something together drop everything and just spend time with them and tell them how much you love them and with your sister. At first, she may seem she doesn’t need you but trust me she does. Try not going out that much because you will end up getting in trouble and take everything slowly. There is time for everything trust me, try to live like a kid by enjoying friends and family. And let me tell you how important trust is, trust is something so hard to earn but so easy to lose. If you want trust you must not only earn it but maintain it by proving yourself through your actions not word. There will be many tests to prove your honesty, before you make any decision make sure you think of the consequences not just the benefit. Another helpful advice would be learning Spanish very well because later on you will need it. Lastly, when everything start going bad don’t worry too much because it’s part of God plan he has for us. I hope you take this advice I wrote for you because it will help you on your bumpy ride, overall I just want you to learn how to forgive because you will have to forgive many people and especially yourself and move on with no grudges and no regrets because everything happens for a reason.

Sincerely, Alexis Cabrera
