Dearest Darling
Dearest Darling,
You may be black, and these days you may still feel like a circus attraction
"look how that black girl walks, look how she talks, look how she's dressed, it's not like the rest"
She can hear your whispers, your laughs, those eyes that try to burn holes in her back
But no she won't let it drag her down, though she may lose her breath in this endless sea, she refuses to drown
Honey you are a queen who sits high on her throne wear your crown with pride and rule with a fist of stone
Yes, i know some days its hard and some days you were left battered, bruised and scarred
But that pain makes us tough for the rode ahead that is sure to be rough
So little black girl take my hand because this is not your end we've just began
