Dear....Me

Dear future me,
I hope you’re happy. I hope you’re accomplished and strong. I hope you’ve faced challenges and have overcome them just as easily as a knife glides through soft butter. I hope you don’t feel the anxiety and inability to please everyone that you felt as a teenager. I hope you’ve travelled the world, had experiences that have taken your breath away. I hope you’re in love, that you have found your soulmate. The person who truly is your better half. I hope you’ve found people who accept and love you as you are and that you’ve never had to change what you believe in only to meet the satisfaction of others. I hope you love what you do. I hope you have not settled for the “easy way out”. I hope you wake up every morning in your beautiful, well decorated home and fill your days only with things that make you happy. I hope you have good relationships, that everyone who you’ve kept in your life is there for a reason and that every relationship has a purpose and only enhances your best qualities and can help you overcome your worst ones. I hope you’re confident. I hope you value the opinions of others but never let them take the place of your own. I hope you’re a leader. I hope you are not someone who just blends into the crowd. I hope you’re that person who stands out and isn’t afraid to be different. I hope you never get taken advantage of for your kind and caring ways. I hope you look at the world as a place that has great potential rather than as a sinking ship. I hope you still love to write. The ability to express oneself through the written word is something that should always be cherished and valued. Most of all, I hope that you have become someone who can look into the mirror and truly love what you see. I hope you never lose your sparkle and uniqueness. And I hope that you are someone who not only makes others proud, but that you are someone who you, yourself, can endlessly be proud of.
