Death


Time halts.

 

Days go drab as the mind can dream

Glistening waters turn murky

Sounds of the streets become bleek

 

Dogs run free

Streams flow backward

Light turns dim

 

Summer nights bring silence

Grasses rise

Snakes slither

 

She is gone.
