Death

Darkness creeps upon me quickly and with ease.  It's cold and I'm slowing. Slowing into a lull that I cannot shake.  Each step grow harder.  Heavier.  Collapsing, I yearn for the warmth of the dirt beneath my hands.  Digging my knees in, my face soaks up the soil.  My eyes grow heavy, tired, faint.  My breathing slows.  Sleep and pain consumes me.  Screams for peace vanish on deaf ears.
