The Death of Amelia

She curled them under my sweater
and laced them in shame
Underneath she let the specks spill
out of her name

I thought I made her stop screaming
but that just made her bite harder
I thought I saved her from everyone
but that just made her run farther

Young heart not pure enough
not full enough she fled
I poisoned her mind, made an addicted mind
I pulled She resisted, and said

No no nothing is clear enough
She was done pretending to fly
She wanted nothing to do with
the disease that was filling inside

The nonexistent clippings
underneath the light
All she could do was disappear
Out of my life

Young heart, not pure enough
not full enough she fled
I poisoned her mind, made an addicted mind
I pulled She resisted, And said
