The Death of Certainty

She starts to shed a tear

Because she’s caught up in her own fear

If only she could take control of the steering wheel

Then maybe she’d begin to feel

She takes a sharp object and begins to peel

Peel away at all of her frustrations

Peel away at all her imperfections

Peel away cause there’s no other way

Peel away cause she doesn’t wanna stay

Peel away cause she’s done being afraid

Peel away cause everything’s not okay

She just awaits for someone to tell her it’s going to be okay

She continues to peel

Because she doesn’t feel

Being numb is her Achilles heel

That’s all she will ever be

So it’s nonsense to think

That she will ever be free

Unless she was to swallow several Aleve

To relieve

All the pain

To grieve

Her uncertainty
