The Death of Fear

Once in darkness, fears for all

Never a time to feel alive.

I walked along a lonely road

With fear close by side.

As time went on,

Fear drew closer

He whispered in my ear

Such awful lies of life

And I, a mindless soul, believed him.

I grew tired of these lies

That fear had planted deeply.

I decided one day

To walk away and try

My own path.

As I walked farther from him

I realized the life before me.

So many beauties

I had missed

For fear had been controlling.

I now walk free

Without the fear

Without the dark surroundings.

I see this life

With open eyes

And love all abounding.
