Death Finds Us All

I saw death today
He was not greeted with peace
Rather with blood curdling screams
Of those who now cease

To exist is to endure pain
but to die is to greet death
and look him in the eyes
as you try to muster your last breath

While you choke on air
you relent and give in
as you accept the inevitability dying
and you let death win
