Death of A Fire

The embers slowly fade
Leaving a trail of smoke
Lingering on my fingertips
The ashes are left
To crumble on blank pages
And reside on your palms
Like abandoned dreams
Fear materializes
From broken bones
Uncertain if their grasp
Is adequate for a pencil
Or for empty spaces
Of loving hands
Searching for a method
Of everlasting approval
