Death Of A Hungry Heart

I heard the scream, and then thr wail And then the aweful silence fell; A screech, a thud, and the silent flood Ran deep and quiet like the blood Of an innocent victim wrongly judged- Guilty of playing too close to the heart. _ No trial, no bail, just the dreadful swell As each labored breath falls aching, sighing. No need for crying, all over, save the dying; "Lean close and listen for I shall tell, The secret best kept from the world Is love for the heart of a pretty girl." _ No doubts, no worries, no tremendous hurry, Will advance the campaign like merely waiting; Neither hustle, nor scurry, like the animals furry- Patience and meditstion like the fisherfolk's baiting. No regrets, ne reforms, just the sunlight that warms From her eyes snd her smile and her arms. _ No chorus, no song, no ultimate wrong, no evil empire Shall keep me from living and loving my life entire. No pain, no anguish, no dead dreams, no tomorrow... For Friday's Child there can be no sorrow. No hopes, no cares, no caught unawares, A heart that is open always shares.
