The Death Knell

I say it slow so it will fade

Into the night in a swift cascade.

Soon our eyes will meet, My love

Do not concern the mourning dove.

Only as the Sun will never be swayed,

You, my moon, should not be swayed.

"No tears," I say at the live death knell;

I will wish you a simple farewell.

As my eyes drift to you below,

I will send down a tranquil snow.

If only you will swiftly foretell

You standing again at my doorbell.

Again I say, dont be betrayed

Or live your life as a masquarade.

Do not withdraw from the old bethel

For you will surely go to hell.

That is not what I ask of you, My love,

Or for you to only know of.

Our time apart might seem so slow,

But know I will always be your beau.

I will hurry along for the delayed.

How death shall not make hearts rove.

As One, our souls will only excel.

I will see you again under the old willow.
