Death on the loose
Flashing lights of tv in my room,
Today on the news,
Living with a spine-chilling warning,
“Death on the loose”.
I turn down the volume to hear,
Wailing sirens echoing through the silence of the night;
Fading heartbeats giving up in the blood of this fight.
My trembling hands are locked up in chains,
Helplessly watching them take you away.
Shaking my legs in despair of await;
It's been 14 days since I last saw your angelic face.
Mother, I am longing for the warmth of your hugs,
This screen feels so cold to touch.
Wherever you are;
Go,
Lay your head on the chest of whom you love.
Be grateful to watch it slowly rise and come to rest,
In this year’s realisation of the blessings we all neglect,
A silent bliss is our ‘Breath’ , whose possession leaves us with nothing to lose ,
Even, when there is a death on the loose.
