The Death of Papa
On a chilled November morning,
I wake to hear terrible news, life changing news,
The man that I held so dear to me was no longer here
I feel as if a knife has just stabbed my shattered heart,
Everything is crumbling down around me,
Nothing seems real anymore,
Why is this happening to me?
There in the midst of this utter sadness is a sliver of peace,
The pain and suffering is gone,
But he is no longer here,
The sadness is overwhelming,
Tears spill from my eyes,
Then you realize you never said goodbye,
The tears don't seem to stop,
Why did this have to happen now?
