Death part 3

The hall went silent

The room shining and bathed in gold

Glittering jewels

And portraits of wars

The chairs lavish, in silk

Burgundy and purple

White lace, and silver

A meeting was this

At the beginning of everything

The emotions

That were instilled into every man

Were running the world

Everything was in flames

So, the universe itself

Created the Spirits

An ancient being that controlled and spoke for every emotion, and natural event

And now, at the turn of every season

The Spirits meet

Let us discuss the living

Life, how are your souls?

Times voice is commanding, but drips with seduction

And a sweetness

So thick, it is like a poison

Coursing through your veins

Slowly infecting you

And bringing you to Death.

My souls are happy

Yes, a few are sad, and try to meet Death

But they forget who controls when they leave

And that is me

Life says this with a shrug

Life was common to believe

That he was a god

And controlled all

He kept people

From finding peace

And this disturbed Death

Death, though he frightened some

Knew the hearts of all

Time looks to the others

And Death leaves

Using his eyes to look at the girl

She's still asleep

The man has come back home, and opens her door

Looking at her, rubbing his eyes

He sighs and comes in

And kisses her forehead

Death comes back to the meeting

And listens as Anger gives her report

Of the Anger of the world

Times watches Death

Her eyes narrowed

She claps her hands

And the room goes dark

An orb glows at the center of the table

Time pushes her chair back

It's legs scrathcing against the marble floor

She floats in the air, moving towards the orb

Her hair forming a dark crown around her head

Her eyes blaze

She places her hands on the orb

Death do explain

Why are you looking at another

A mortal girl

What is so important?

You are only to deal with mortals when they are meeting you

And you escort them to the Land of Peace

Or the Land of Torment

What is she to you?

The orb expands

Into an explosion of light

Showing the mortal world

And showing the girl as she sleeps

Her hair curled and lying around her head

Like a flower

That is blooming in the silence of the Night

Her face twisted in a great fear

As she wrestles with the monsters in her dreams

Anxiety, ease her fear

Night, replace her memories with sweet fantasies

Ease her suffering

Death whispers harshly

The power surges in his eyes

And it is known to all you do not deny what he says

Night closes her eyes, and a blue light glows from her fingers

Slowly, the girls face does relax

And a sweet smile spreads over her face

Anxiety rubs his hands slowly

Chanting an ancient prayer softly

And slowly the dark energy that encircles the girl

Does fade

Time snaps her fingers

And the image vanishes

The light returns to the hall

Time glowers at Death

Her rage drips from her fingers as she walks across the table

Her footsteps like thunder

Explain yourself Death

Why is this mortal important?

What does she have

You so desperately desire?

Times accusation rings loud and clear in the hall

Enraging Death

Death rises from his chair

A dark power surges about him

Swirling in black smoke

Filling the room with

A darkness

Darker than anything the world has ever seen

The Spirits all stay silent

Times is frozen in her place

And Death's haunting voice fills the room

The softest whisper

But spoke louder than any scream

What do you take me for Enchantress?

Am I just a simple minded dog to you?

Mindlessly looking for a way to breed?

Or am I a wolf?

Prowling on the sheep, the purest of lambs

In the quiet of the night?

In the darkest, most trying time?

I am no dog, I am no wolf!

I carry souls to their endings!

I help them to find rest and peace!

And yes many do find torment in their next life

But I give them security, knowing that if they serve properly

They earn their restful sleep!

Do not accuse me of seeking this girls purity

I seek only to be her comfort

And to bring her peace in this Life, and the next!

Life, your job is to take care of these souls in this life

But do you?

No! You neglect them!

They suffer torment and abuse, and are left to deal with these emotions and trials!

You have failed as a Spirit, as a Guardian!

Do not, accuse me of being a wolf in sheeps clothing

That is comparing me to the Devil, who comes to seek, rob, kill and destroy!

I am no Devil!

I may be Death, but I am not evil.

The darkness remains

Every Guardian is silent

And then Life speaks,

In a low growl

Like the beast that guards the entry way to the Land of Torment.

I have failed?

Tell me Death, where is your proof?

I care for my souls, and give them a good first life

You have no justification for these accusations

Do not accuse the innocent if you  cann't show valid proof

Life says this with indignation

His pride bigger than anything

He can't see anything below the mountain he has built himself.

Death laughs

His laugh starting low and somber

And slowly growing in volume

Filling every space in the hall

It took root in the Guardians minds, resonating deeply.

Suddenly a piercing scream fills the hall

The scream of the once sleeping girl

The man's voice booms

Worthless little brat!

You'll be a whore, just like your mother!

The girls sobbing soon fills the hall

And her tears begin to fall from the ceiling

And droplets of deep crimson blood

Glow red as they fall with her tears

And her soft whispers begin to mix in

I hate Life

Death, come for me,

I hate me, I just want to die

The whispers, tears and blood fades

That is my proof

And Death vanishes, as does the darkness in the hall

Leaving the Guardians frozen, blood covering them.

I love to write, it helps me to release, and in a way I feel like I'm creating something small. Even if it doesn't matter, ya know?
