Death Search
Death is searching houses.
Entering without knocking on the door
Taking some up past the ceilings,
Leaving some broken on the floor.
Graves touch soft and violent,
Judgment swift and silent...
leaving behind its loud cries and the unrelenting pain of empty rooms and places.
No one thinks of mentioning those needed mentioning.
So the quiet kills whomever it graces.
God’s giving each house chance to wave to all, balance out the scales of time.
Focus on the present.
For some, the future is faded and... and the past?
It’s unfit to remind.
Some can make things right.
And others?... the road is done.
So To The Mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, those here and yet to be born.
Fix what's in grasp.
Don't focus on what's thrown away.
Leave th future unvexed.
And The stranger unencounted?
Hope for another day.
For whom will this invited intruder embrace next?
For whom will the death band play?
Breathing freely life’s last breath, find dawn days or lose the light?
Who will welcome the morning?
And who will say goodnight?
