Death Sentence
We hide from the truth…
Behind our XXX videos
And our liquor 80 proof
And allow ourselves to be called niggas
Go figure
All we do is drugs, produce babies, and pull triggers
And sit and pay taxes
To a government that sits watches us in poverty
And just laughs it, off
While the niggas of our generation
Do everything to not seem soft.
So why is a good man hard to find?
‘Cause too many have been brainwashed
By Benjamin to ever find
Anything that isn’t placed right in front of them.
Give a nigga something and
He’ll do everything except cherish it…
They took off the chains of slavery but now we embellish it
In different ways
That’s why we call a car, a whip
And worship when we get paid
So we can buy Jordans, rims, and hair extensions
Never spend money or time with our kids did I forget to mention?
Who needs education be a street nigga
Then our kids get strapped gun claps to defeat niggas
But know it’s an insult when I repeat nigga
Because we are bigger then that
Doper then crack
Our kids only dream as big as a tack
Because the only thing they see is what’s around them
Instead of helping them, media astounds them
With dreams of money and fame
No matter the pain
The only people who make it
Are those that refrain from speaking of the struggle
So listen my sisters and open your eyes my brothers
Embrace each other
Stop trying to erase each other..
Because the future is in our hands
If tomorrow things are the same then understand
That you could have made a difference
We never help each other
Which has sealed our death sentence
