Death By Society 2016

I look up to God and ask him why

I ask why it is that society likes to watch us die

Just by walking up the street

The cops think im packin heat

So they shackle me by my feet

I ask them what they did and they assume that im trying to run like a track meet

I say "sir you are hurting me, Im not trying to run"

They say "Do I look like a fool? I saw you with that gun"

I start to cry and say that I want to go home

But the cop puts the chrome to my dome and sends me off alone....

BANG! The bullet goes straight through my head

The cop looks in awe, and says he only wanted to shoot me in the leg

but instead

Im lying here, blood everywhere, dead

Court day comes and the cop is sentenced with involuntary manslaughter

My mom starts to hollar

Grabs the cop by his collar

and says "you killed my son as if his life was worth less than a dollar,

and I swear to God, my son will get justice so dont even bother by trying to say it was all self defense because Mr. White man that makes no sense

My son never had a gun, all he had on him was 3 dollars and 12 cents

I want to say your'e awful Mr. Whiteman and this whole trial

Now I know that its your fault that I wont be seeing my son for a while

Meanwhile...

Im on my way to heaven

I see all these flashbacks of my life

even from when I was Eleven

Im about to start a new journey by going on my own way

I hear a little voice asking me to stay

Not knowing how I can go withouy mom for another day

I see can my dreams fade away

Then everything starts to go grey

I then see God and look him right in the face and say "Lord why did I die?"

please explain why

because for some reason I can still hear my family cry

and ask the government why whose white cops arent locked up

and can still see the light outside

God responds by saying he gave man the freedom to act on their own

Im sorry that you are leaving your mother alone

but I shall watch over her

for this act of sin I dont condone

A white angel comes up to me and asks me whats the matter

I only say Black Lives
