Death-wish

Jeremiah 23:17

17 They continually say to those who reject what the Lord has said,
‘Things will go well for you!’
They say to all those who follow the stubborn inclinations of their own hearts,
‘Nothing bad will happen to you!’

Abused:

The parents died while still living ... unusual at least.

Having the dead all surround us ... thinking they are alive.

Impossible to explain it seems ... this form of existence.

How can the dead move on and rule major facets of this “life”?

If nations are ruled mostly ... by entities of this kind

No life will extend from death ... and indeed can be.

Then life itself must overrule ... in segments of importance

otherwise, all would be dead ... and no one could be free.

Unless a heart is given ... where death has no influence

and where it has been defeated ... by Life Himself.

Existence has no deliverance ... from the grand illusion

to understand the impossible and commune with the mind itself.

Observing my “own” life ... in an array of shambles

a lot like a scarecrow ... but dressed in my best clothes.

Always softly smiling ... but inside constant ramble

in this contradiction ... that disunites us both.

The many different “me’s” ... trying to act unified.

Segregated in two groups ... labeled spirit and flesh.

Nothing there in common ... truly opposites

which in their own confusion ... think the "truth" is their best

Always disagreeing ... always at war.

Sometimes so they unite and let depravity surface.

That seems when evil from within darts

all its poison arrows with a single purpose.

Death-wish to the opposition ... judgment upon all.

Blinded by anger ... in their own hypocrisy.

Replacing the Maker of our universe

as a self-appointed god, I’ll be in my destiny.

Carnal Christian ... can that be?

The Holy Spirit ... quenched in me?

My own choice ... not to be free?

Despised ... for all Eternity?

The Cross rendered helpless in my choice

so death to rule with senseless poise.

Crying out with a lovely voice:

“It is not fair for this old boy”.
