Deaths Embrace

I take the alcohol and drink

Letting the burn sooth my nerves

Staring at the blade I contemplate my actions

One swift move and it would all be over

The pain and sorrow gone from life

I make a vertical cut and only feel pain for a second

The water starts to turn red

I feel the life flowing out of me

I'm so relaxed nothing can hurt me now

I sit and wait for the blackness to engulf me

Time slows down and everything becomes calm

I greet death with open arms

Peace at last as the darkness descends

No more pain or sorrow

I am finally relieved of this misery
