Death's Glorious Aroma
I smell a smell that only could bring tears to my eyes.
Not a physical smell but emotional,the smell that only God could creat.
The smell didn't scare me but brought a shiver down my spine,
for smelling it I knew that it was the end.
The smell was sweet and calming but only to the person it was meant for;
the bystanders sniffed and became frightened, unknowing of what to do.
Me, I knew what it was and I invited it in-
I knew what the smell was therefor I was joyous and saddened.
The smell could never be described and no one survived to tell what it was like,
the people meant for the smell would go, flying away, never to return.
They would see the Lord and he would say "well done".
I know that you are beginning to smell that glorious smell now,
you will sigh at the delicious aroma of the very substance.
I smile because I know with that smells comes a new life for you, as for me.
I shout at the top of my lungs thanking the Lord that you will have a pair of shoes,
a robe, and your own little cloud,
putting in a great word for all of us here on Earth.
You leave me behind and I'm happy because you are, because you love me enough to go.
