Death's Warning

A sign suspended around her neck, “danger keep away” The irony is that he can’t obey, especially not today Something changed, shifted, transformed, altered And in the worst of ways his incipient state progresses, his mind completely faltered. He was blinded by her promise, a panacea for the poison And while the solution seemed unfortunate it was the only one he would have chosen No one else understood thinking it to be the easy way out But after weighing his options there was no way around It’s true what they say the good do die young But he left behind that smile, a strength, and a passion with the shot of a gun
