Debt

All my life growing up I was told to go to school.

Get an education.

Learn something.

Fill your head with knowledge.

Now take that knowledge and apply it.

Make use of all this debt you are drowning in.

Not just debt that's start with a C and make your bank account deminish.

The debt of stress, and anxiety.

The debt of passion being drained out of you into

Every piece of paper you work on,

Every assignment you complete.

All your sweat and tears that go into school

Applying for loans and paying out of pockets

Thanking the Lord when a grant comes and takes some of the stress off of you

I'm talking debt.

Debt that piles up a mile high

Debt that cuts your wind pipe off until you have to say, "OKAY!"

Sally Mae... I hear you knocking on my door so eloquently.

I hear you.....

Just let me get this g.p.a up

Hold on... just let me get this degree.

Apply for these positions and put my best foot forward

Wait! Just let me get rejected enough times until

I get that one break.

They say all that debt we recur will be worth it

All that stress

All that money loss

All that passion being sucked out of you

Will be worth it

When you put your best face forward and

Earn it

Earn that degree that plent of other Americans never get the chance to touch

Put it to use and smile

Tell the next generation its their turn now

Pass that debt right on down
