A Debt Paid In Ink "A Short Long Story"
And she said, I only confess love in poetry
She no longer feels the spark not chemistry
She wanted this and I could offer that
And that is what I can but could not
Little did she knew
I might be the poet
But she will always be the words
Maybe I poured my soulful thoughts obsessively
Maybe I fiercely wrote the poems inside you that a paper can't handle
A little lot more than I should have
For without you I feel empty
And the world becomes grey
So I love year with every poem
And this poem is still to you
With you, because of you and for you
I don't know what forever looks like
But I hope it has your eyes
I won't ever forget you
Maybe that's the only forever
The two of us together
Were ever meant to have
For what we once shared
And the secrets we both know
Even if we stop talking to each other
I want you to know
It's possible to love in silence
Some day we will find
What we are searching for
Or maybe not
Maybe we'll find something
Much greater than that
In the meantime I hope someone
somewhere picks my soul
Off of these pages
And think I would have loved her
For what lies behind us
And what lies before us
Are small matters
Compared to what lies within us
Something wrong with this poem?
