Deceit

What seems like an endless dream

Quickly turns into a nightmare.
Demons chase me down
People watch because they don’t care

Heavy breathing
Head is bleeding
Nothing but pain
And I stop believing

Believing that I’ll be saved
Believing that someone will stop this
That I wouldn't have to endure this horror
Believing that…someone…anyone really cared

I slow my stride
Prepare my soul for its long journey
I ponder over my life
Realizing that I hadn't really lived

I gaze into the eyes of the moon,
Noticing its true beauty.
Funny how while on the brink of death
You finally realize the truth

the truth that you don’t want to go
the truth; you wish you had more
Time to fix your mistakes
the truth is that you regret it all.

sounds of howling
the hungry growling
all getting closer
back is turned As I stand there cowering.

I stand there waiting for it happen
it never comes
I risk it and turn around
only to find that my nightmare became my dream.
