deceit

they say don't judge a book by its cover
well don't judge it by its content 
if you read the fine print of a contract
it can trick you like the serpent
eve once fell prey to the same tricks it played
she judged by appearance and ate what was forbade
but looks can be deceiving
and so can a personality 
because Lucifer was an angel
with no sense of morality
yet its pain that brings us mercy 
like Joseph and his brothers
he was beaten and arrested 
because jealousy implanted
but in return he only gave
to even those who've caused him pain
