Deceitfully Lived

I married deceit

for a chance 

at life

Lift the veil

and close your eyes

to see what's next coming

the next chapter of life

is blinding

and filled with strife

apologize for telling lies

but when you finally 

get around

and open your eyes 

in turn you will see

that your wedding brought rain

and only ashes remain

what once was in bloom

now in shambles 

brings pain

a shell of clarity

is now all that remains

a shell of once was

no clarity shall remain

For all clarity was in lies
