Deception

Dear Friendly Face,

You were my few minutes of sunshine,

You saw an opportunity.

I wanted to keep your warmth,

But you really were a lifetime of storms.

Disguised as the sun you were hunting,

Dragging people into your dark clouds.

Your outer shell was false,

Appearing to be shining happiness,

Inside you are overflowing with decay,

A true monster.

You steal freedom,

Turning lives into acid rain.

You played this game too long,

You won too many times.

I almost lost,

I felt an icy drop of your rain.

You were not a peer of mine,

You were wrong.

Now I know.

Now all I feel is cold disgust for you.
