Declaration Of Independence
Bloodshot eyes hidden behind imprisoned bars
My rusty shield corrupts, my faith begins to shake
I’ve become the girl without a trace
Heart shattered, sadness rains upon me
Why cant I see the light they say shines above me
The clouds never clear
Though it seems a beautiful day is always here
Shedding joy and laughter
But inside sadness is just a never after
A nightmare with the same aching pain for years
I’ve became an emotional coward to face my fears
What’s hard to believe is easier to deny
The heart ache truth from that long crushed tide
I can no longer stand it
The same ripple of waves to destroy a race
Another slap in the face
Why do I feel that certain way towards a tide that will never reach my state
Yet again another rejection with the friendly mace
Saying goodbye to the hard times will never work
The gazelle’s predator will always lurk
My shield’s been broken by its predator emotion
Gnawing off the outer shell I’ve never had token
Cast my bets
Courage looses my best guess
To speak up
To be heard among my casino opponents
Hello fear. Hello doubts. Hello guilt.
Just a show how competition’s built
I guess when push comes to shove
Maybe I need to put on my lucky leather glove
Rely on divine
The infinity of forever
No longer depend on never
And no longer grow weak by a tide that can’t make it past summer
I’ll stand on my two feet
Won’t ever face the cry of defeat
Mark my territory
Let the whole world know this girl’s story
From ugly to beautiful
Clumsy to forgetful
Quiet to squeaky
I’ve left loner’s circle on a new key
A melody in which I’ve composed
Something the whole world outta know
I’ve started this journey brainwashed about a fairytale
Like a dog forever chasing his tail
Separated, now wiser with a stronger grasp of reality
Sentence to a life of freedom, my dark days are finally finished
Now its time to evolve my own Declaration of Independence
