Decree of Ghosts
People of life,
Give way to what you can,
Though never be treaded upon,
Give love to your people,
Yet recall they are flawed,
Give hope to others,
But never vanity,
Give punishment as needed,
Refrain from near insanity,
Give your enemies respect,
Always keep your guard,
Ask for what you need,
But nothing is guaranteed,
Ask for what you want,
And give back the same kindness,
Ask and receive,
Thank them for their belief,
Ask but never take,
And a slave friendship you will make.
Be marionettes to the people you personally trust,
However keep scissors at hand,
Fight for what you believe is right,
Let blood be the last thing shed,
Lead your people with kindness,
But help them to understand:
Politics involves people,
Though it should never control them,
Keep these things well in mind,
Forget but never let them die,
Remember them well,
For they are your ticket to life,
Foolish or not it’s the thought that counts.
For when you are dead it’s hate you can do without.
