Dedicated 2 Her

Close your eyes and try to picture, a women with dreams, so full of pride but so passionate, or so had it seemed, beneath the bling that she kept, was a scream for help, and memories that would bring on the grief she felt, but if she ever told a soul, she would break the “rules”, she didn’t feel she should break the news, so not a thing she could do, screamed “stop!” but the brother refused, at 16, feelin’ used and abused, say she wants to “end” it , and it might be tonight, but I tell her to keep the faith cause’ her future is bright, can’t say I understand her pain, but I’m familiar with grief, keep your head up although the change isn’t easy to see

It's not about me. It's not about you. It's all about God. Learning to be swift to hear and slow to speak. Traveling is a passion of mine. Still learning to be that change. Consider me a work in progress.

This is a very honest poem, and I could feel the sadness you felt when writing it. Your poem speaks to the idea that people can seem happy or healthy on the outside but that does not necessarily mean they feel the same on the inside, and we should learn the signs for when someone feels they want to "end it" so that we can prevent them from doing so and teach them that life is valuable.
