Dedicated to M

Harsh words or lies can slash and bruise,

only soothed by the distraction of the unknown.

Wondering if the innocent are endangered or lost,

contemplating ways to retrieve them to home.

An empty thought, a shaken glance toward one another,

none containing the answers being sought.

Still needing to show face within the public eye,

one swallows the pill of being distraught.

Many feel the rooms thick with ache,

escaping but only for a moment through the stuffy walls.

Obscured by the fact that it returns within a quick instant,

never straying away long from those who bawl.

Exasperating situations with no endings in sight,

believing that all must be right within time.

Endangering others to receive their own gain,

something that one would not have fathomed in a lifetime.

Objectively eyeing the situations at hand,

sometimes analyzing and analyzing for hours.

Exhausted eyes and tearful hearts grow tired,

letting their hopes tumble down like toy block towers.

Finding the answers within themselves is unclear,

incredulously feeling the unrepentance.

Sometimes it takes only one expansive mistake,

hits one hard, like the first letter of a sentence.
