Dedication

The thrill of diving in the dirt, having the instincts to move towards the ball, getting down and dirty, scrapes and scars on my body. Fans chanting, coaches yelling. Sweat across my face, dirt in my shoes, eye glare on my cheekbones. There’s silence in my head when the ball is released from the pitchers hand. Swinging, hoping to hit it out far in the mist.
