Dedication To My Favorite Girl

Rosie

You was there when life had me defeated

Even when I dropped my head and lowered my eyes, you knew I couldn't be cheated

As a child I sat on your bedroom floor and admired you as you watch the soaps

Listen to you joke about being fine as wine, and at that moment I knew you were dope

Skin that glistened with the best oils, and legs cocoa buttered up

Anytime I spent the night, you always gave me the sweetest tucks

The smell of the breakfast in morning always made me awake

You knew you could never cook white rice right, so you told me and my cousins give or take

We joked about my skinniest, you said you'll be glad when I fatten

You grinned in my face with your favorite robe on made from satin

You never really stressed, you kept everything in God's hands

One day I hope to be like you and never take nonsense from any man

At midnight we ate large bowls of butter pecan ice cream

No matter the mistakes I made in life, you always stayed on my team

Your an inspiration to most, and a threat to many

You snuck me a lot dollars and I do mean plenty

I heard you were the swing dancing queen and you loved to jam

You told me once I leave the country, don't forget who I am

Your favorite rapppers are Tupac and Snoop

When I got my first car you hoped to see me riding around town in a mini coupe

Graduation day I'll never forget it

You told me you was proud of me and nothing in the world could've made you miss it

Beautiful black woman, you give me hope

Life without you, I don't think I can cope

Apart of you is apart of me

Thank you for making me who I am, Grandma Rosie
