Deep Breath In. Deep Breath Out.

Deep breath in.

Deep breath out.

The air is cold and sharp

In my lungs, but also burning with desire

While my ears ring like the strings of a harp

And my heart burns with a flame like ire.

Deep breath in.

Deep breath out.

The air feels almost free,

But there are still cords and strings

That seem to hold on tight to me

And in my ears your voice still rings.

Deep breath in.

Deep breath out.

The air still whispers "She still loves him,"

But how could I really still love you?

The pain you gave me is only barely under the rim,

And the answer of "no," though silent, was true.
