Deep Brown Eyes

Deep Brown Eyes

I am…

My eyes.

Deep brown eyes that sometimes express the pain of yesterday.

Eyes that revel in the beauties of the world,

And shy away from the shadows.

Brown pools that often hide behind old frames,

Constantly giving into the childlike fear of rejection.

Two murky oceans full of untold mystery and wonder

Far too incredible to be truly described.

I am…

My smile.

Brightly colored metal covered pearls hidden away behind two closed doors.

Rows of rare stones, carefully preserved for those moments of absolute joy.

White gems that shine brightest in the darkest of times,

Desperate to overcome even the grueling of situations.

I am…

My heart.

Completely filled with the childish perceptions of the world.

A heart that only detects the good in others.

A red star that pulses and quakes at the slightest touch.

A roaring drum that beats to a rhythm unlike any before it.

I am…

My laugh.

Loud and boisterous, infecting everyone with its quirky tones.

Laughter so rich and full that even the clouds fade away.

Cheerful howls that echo sharply through the air,

Leaving no corner unfilled.

Much more than meaningless noise,

Instead a loving reminder of good times long forgotten.

I am…

My mind.

Vast and insatiable, constantly on the search for more.

A mind tainted by the unforgiving opinion of society,

And purified by the marvel that is life.

Gray matter eagerly awaiting the uncertainty of tomorrow.

An uncharted universe just waiting to be explored.

I am…

Put simply,

Me.

I love your poem. I love the use of imagery to describe the facial features in a more appealing and meaningful way. I mostly like the section about the smile.

what do you think of mine?
