The deep end
I feel like the world is caving in on me.
Everything and everyone I love is washing away, like the foot prints on a beach.
I just feel that the more effort I put in to the world, the harder it punches me back.
And I am done fighting it.
I’m ready for the waves on the beach to wash it all away.
Drift off into the sea all the way down and off the deep end.
Finally the world’s noise, pain and struggles would go silent.
I would stop giving, and stop getting, because all I get is pain.
And if it’s just pain, how is it worth it.
So just let me go,
Off the deep end.

▾ This Poem's Voice
Your Poem's Voice
Deeply personal/autobiographical; emotional crisis expressed through speaker's direct experience.
Multiple interconnected ideas: despair, effort/failure cycle, surrender, suicidal ideation compressed densely.
Strongly negative throughout; hopelessness, pain, exhaustion, and suicidal ideation dominate.
Turbulent emotional intensity with building momentum toward dark resolution; language gains force.
Approximately 12-13 lines; falls within 7-15 line range.
Moderate ornamentation: simile (footprints/washing away), metaphor (caving in, deep end), but mostly declarative.
Pure lyric internal voice; introspective first-person emotional confession without narrative or persona shift.
