Deeper than Skin

My soul burns fire with the passion it possess

But all your eyes can see are the tattoos on my chest

And my heart has been harden by the struggles I have faced

But all you’ve probably noticed is the smile that’s on my face

I try to explain that it’s deeper than my skin

The truth behind my story is evident by the heart that beats within

Stereotyped for the color that they tend to only see

Rather than putting these labels down to see me for me
