Deeper then skin

There is more to me than being Mexican American It goes deeper than the color of my skin It goes way beyond that things that Things that people would think of when they see me They would just think “oh look at that Mexican” “Since she’s Mexican she must like tacos” They don’t see a different side on me They base their knowledge of me from my skin tone Like if that determines me as a person They sometimes don’t even to bother to get to know me How they get surprise when they hear my name Since it’s not what they picture I look like What people don’t realize that everyone is human It does not matter of their ethnicity or a different perspective on life All that does not matter because at the end of the day we are human
