Deeper Within

Too much of one thing isn’t good for you

Too much will engulf you

The weight upon your tired shoulders

Brimming yet fragile will crumble in a mere matter of seconds

Cruel feelings will snare your body and soul

Warmth beyond compare will be a furnace too hot to handle

Cold knowledge melt into bitter sentimental

The so called ‘love’ is just a dream of the unreachable

The sweet nothings writhing in flames

Engulfed in a rose colored glass of meaningful lies

Truths are cold, clever, kind.

A jumble of objects, some priceless others useless junk

Broken toys of time

Gazing eyes echo standards

The mold made for you to fill

Perfectly undesirable

Wheels spinning around my head

Grains of time drip drop in an ocean of pity and tears

Drowning in sickly sweet air

The fragrance of honey sticking to my memories

Mirrors flood with images like a broken slideshow

Over and over round my head claiming the land of ghosts

Entrapping them in webs of lies

The stardust longing for not one but two faces of life

Dreams and goals follow in my wake

Ripples in the flame
