Define Me

Who am I? By your definition I could be anything in the book.

You could base your decision on my habits, or the way I look.

I could smile all day and say I never cry,

And half of the world would believe that silly lie.

I’m annoying, and I talk way too much.

I’m quiet, and I don’t say nearly enough.

I’m broken, and my pieces are scattered.

I’m beautiful, and your confidence is shattered.

I’m an artist, I draw my future everyday.

I’m an athlete, I run from everything they say.

My name doesn’t matter, or what I do at home.

They judge what they see, hear, or think they know.

I’m the ground, step on my without apology.

I’m the sky, ne in awe and look up to me.

I’m the wall that hears all, and they don’t even notice.

I’m the face in the hall, questioning all your motives.

I am the same person as the person I’m beside.

We both have things to show, we both have things to hide.

We both look at ourselves and think of what to change.

We both look around and think everyone’s strange.

I am who I am, and what everyone expects.

But I will change, so who will I be next?
