Define Yourself
You aren’t how the world defines you
they can’t see the tragedies and pain you’ve been through
Every tear that’s left your eyes has got a reason
But your sadness only lasts for a season
Your smile holds back the memories nobody will know
When given the time I’m sure you will show
The greatness inside of you
It’s just trying to find a way through
To shine all over the world
Your name isn’t a plural
There’s only one of you forever
Just do the world a favor
Show them what it means to define yourself
Give them a feeling they’ve never felt
It’s easy to give up
But you’ve been strong from the start
Be yourself so the world will know
That there’s a beauty you don’t tend to show
A beauty that makes you smile
Define yourself
Not like the people did before
Every scar is a lesson learned
Not a regret from your yesterdays
Don’t go out of your way
To change who you are just for some friends
Who you are is beautiful in every single way
No matter what people tend to say
Define yourself before it’s too late
And you’re not stuck with your own fate.
