Defining Me
I like to think I'm more than carefully assorted character traits
More than personality traits stacked on top of each other wavering side to side
I have buried scars and unearthed sanity
Traveled to undiscovered lands trapped inside the folds of my mind
My pillow has been ruined by seas of salt water and hugged with the force of teenage love
My fears ride canoes down my veins pushing up stream at the worst moments
While my wildest dreams lay untouched somewhere right out of my reach
I have been overloaded with data and under loaded with emotions and found my way back
My vocal cords tremble with the echo of my laugh
While my lungs are more black than pinkish in color
My heart still beats while wrapped in caution tape and the butterflies still swarm on occasion
I know who I am and I know who I'm not
I'm undefinable
But yet there you sit reading over lines and over analyzing words defining me
