Dehydrated

I am lost, isolated

Constricted by these dimensions

that go beyond the ocean's current

I am trapped inside my head.

The demons in my mind scream at me

They are as constricted as I am,

unable to quench the thirst that sends flames down both of our throats

I long for the comfort of the sound of rain

and the way I haphazardly pull the blanket closer to my chest

as the sounds above sound like an avalanche of crashing drums

I am stranded, deserted

Completely abandoned by the dry sediment between my toes.
