Deja Vu

The way you speak Is like blood in my veins Fluid and smooth Keeping me alive You speak words of substance That hit me hard Bring me to my feet Knock the wind out of me once more In a never ending cycle Of my own mind Coming from the mouth of someone I've never met But yet I feel like we've known each other For centuries Old friends from our time with King Arthur Or taking the first step on the moon Together If life was simple And I was honest You would be the only thing I need Romanticizing the replaying thoughts That my mind can never process If I believed in that one silly thought from the symposium There would be no doubt in my mind That you would be it There are knotted syllables Tucked beneath the black and blue Of my stolen tongue That I cannot even begin to figure out The more I hear you unconsciously serenade me with my own thoughts The more I begin to understand That you aren't like the rest And the more I begin to let the helium from my balloon like mind escape I understand that I can't understand everything You understand the pain You feel it just like I do I never knew that there was someone Who understood How locked inside a leather bound book I was Until I listened to you talk about that one special spot on the wall Where the ball hits
