On Del
The boy had the voice of a cherub, and
A lovely, lively song
Erupted forth from his pale lips,
Made the whole world sing along.
Had everybody dancing,
But their good time could not be shared
With him.
Devils and demons and the very slime of death
Plagued his mind, hid right behind
His eyes, his dark eyes
And sucked him into himself
Like a black hole
With a dreadful bang that sounded though the night.
