Delayed Meanings
the bitter wind bites with ferocity of a force unseen,
it no longer gives a glimpse of warmth and togetherness,
but a deeper definition of something that is mean.
does it remind you of yourself, of a past you fear?
do you regret making it such a mess?
the shards of unforgiving ice merely your sorrowful tears?
or is it a softer, sadder memory,
of a place you really miss?
it makes you think and want, the actions so involuntary.
the cold winter wind is simply just an expression,
nature's way of showing what preexists.
perhaps that's why we stare outside in times of depression....
