Spontaneous vibrations

Out the corner of my eye

I see

her number--

ten numbers.

Quick glances

But your name no longer

lingers in my mind.

Two and a half years

lost

in the periodical buzzing of the moment.

Is this what needs to be done

to make me feel real?

Like holding a pillow over

the face of my greatest enemy

Our love.

I wait

like I always have.

Missed call.

I connected with this poem. Who hasn't had a relationship end where an ex-lover keeps tabs...or sometimes in my case, I've imagined their number appearing like a ghost on the screen of my iPhone.

Here's what you did well with this poem: Concrete! For the most part there was very little to no abstractions in this poem. It's a simple and straightforward piece that captures the anxiety of a broken relationship.

Here's what you didn't do so well: I can't point out anything you didn't do well in this poem. I've read it several times and tried to find fault with it, and I can't. You really have a great piece here, and from my perspective it's worthy of further public enjoyment.
