Delicate Blips Spark a Memory

Delicate blips spark a memory.

A swelling of silence; a swelling of impatience,

Followed by a combination of bird chirps and stones dropped in water.

Reminiscent of a time more hopeful

   a time more uncertain

   a time more beautiful but

   a time more known

Corollary blips spark a memory.

A notification of excitement, an approval of presence,

Followed by a clacking of keys and the vibrancy of assurance

Reminiscent of a time much enjoyed

              a time much hated

   a time much longed for

   a time much treasured

   a time much overlooked

Delicate blips spark a memory.

Far away and ephemeral; lasted longer than necessary

Over with a blink of time’s eye.
