The Delta's Struggle

"People from the Delta are the fattest, the dumbest, and the poorest"
That's what they say
Which are all lies in my eyes
As you can see, I'm in good shape
If you check my scores, I'm at the top of my class
And I'm not the richest, but I am far from the poorest
And there are many more Delta individuals like me
So, why are ALL of us characterized as this
We have people shame to say their from the Delta
They don't want to face "criticism"
Why hide where you're from though?
People should be proud to say their from the Delta
Because we have proved that we're better
Fitness and academic programs are all set
And employment rates, they're all met
We have beat the odds and will do it again
Never will we have to suffer the pain
The pain from words who are meant to hurt us
To break us down and control us
We are more than just a Delta citizen
We are citizens who embrace the Delta's significance
No more struggling for the Delta
We are reaching for the stars and more!
